Starting on October 6, the winners of this year’s competition Houses of the Year will be presented; Callwey Verlag has awarded the prize together with the DAM, Informationszentrum Beton and the media partners Baumeister, Atriu/Ideales Heim, n-tv and Neue Zürcher Zeitung. Prize money of EUR 10,000 is attached to the first prize, while other winners receive an award only. The results will be published in the book “Houses of the Year” and presented in the exhibition in DAM. Criteria for the Jury in making a selection were a creative approach to the rural or urban environment, the spatial design of a private living space, the intelligent interplay between aesthetics, material and construction — and, not least of all, realizing the task of designing a detached house in a contemporary manner.

The International Highrise Award 2020 presents a selection of current highrise buildings from all over the world according to the following criteria: future-oriented design, functionality, innovative building technology, integration into the urban fabric, sustainability, and economic feasibility. The exhibition shows the winner, the finalists and the nominees comprehen-sively using models, films, photos, drawings and texts. The International Highrise Award is awarded by Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM), DekaBank and the City of Frankfurt/Main.
