    Increasingly, attention is being paid to rural regions as a center of life. They are places to live and work. Architecture can be an expression of valuing something; it can, in the best cases, generate a sense of confidence. For this reason, it is worthwhile to commit not just to many small construction tasks but also to entire village cores.

    In the Fall 2022 semester, the Yale School of Architecture Gallery will host a traveling exhibition that began at the DAM (German Architecture Museum) in Frankfurt am Main in 2017. The exhibition represents a selection from the first-ever global survey of the Brutalist architecture of the 1950s to the 1970s. The website sosbrutalism.com now covers over 2180 buildings.

    This year, for the fourteenth time, the Frankfurt Book Fair and the Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM) are presenting the jointly initiated international DAM Architectural Book Award.

Abriss und Neubau sind häufig immer noch die Antwort im Umgang mit Gebäuden, die anscheinend nicht mehr den geltenden Normen oder einer effizienten und ökonomischen Nutzung entsprechen.

Nach Ausflügen zu echten, geruchsintensiven Materialbergen und Entdeckertouren durch ungenutzte Räume wird es kreativ: Aus Fundstücken und gesammelten, getauschten und wiedergefundenen Materialien entstehen Skulpturen, Möbel und mehr. Jetzt wird Platz gemacht - für neue Ideen mit alten oder gebrauchten Materialien.

    This year, 34 projects from 13 countries were nominated for the International High-Rise Award. In a similar way to the situation two years ago, a considerable decline in high-rises completed was to be observed. In many countries, delays
    occurred as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, along with both the associated supply chain problems and labor shortages. Nevertheless, as in previous years, it was still the case that nowhere in the world were as many high-rises erected as in China.
