We all know Lego. But before the Danish company conquered the international market, there were over 900 manufacturers of building sets in German-speaking countries alone.
The DAM is showing around 60 examples from the collection of graphic designer Claus Krieger in all their aspects: Built-up models, tricky connecting elements, educational intentions, architectural references and challenging building instructions. At eight workstations, visitors can play, build and develop new things. Therefore, Prof. Andreas Kretzer from the Stuttgart Technical University of Applied Sciences and his students have recreated the precious original building blocks of the Ingenius, Bâtiss and Skyline sets on an enlarged scale of 3:1. In addition, bricks from the Minibrix, Tetek and Dusyma systems as well as the Kleiner Großblockbaumeister from the GDR await anyone who enjoys building.
