{"id":11854,"date":"2019-08-01T13:51:37","date_gmt":"2019-08-01T11:51:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dam-online.de\/dam-collection\/"},"modified":"2019-08-01T13:53:35","modified_gmt":"2019-08-01T11:53:35","slug":"dam-collection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dam-online.de\/en\/dam-collection\/","title":{"rendered":"DAM collection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A TREASURE TROVE IS OPENED<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"et_pb_column et_pb_column_3_4 et_pb_column_2 et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_module et_pb_text et_pb_text_4 et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_text_align_left\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\">\n<p>In the 1980s, backed by a generous exhibition budget, Heinrich Klotz laid the foundations for the Collection of the DAM that now comprises some 200.000 architectural plans, drawings and sketches, 1320 models as well as pictures and items of furniture. Since 1989 this Collection is established in Frankfurt, Hedderichstrasse, not far from the museum.<br \/>\nThere is a small selection of drawings of the 18th and 19th century, but the main focus is on 20th century architecture. Some of the most significant holdings include works by <b>Giambattista Piranesi<\/b> and <b>Gottfried Semper<\/b>, <b>Louis I. Kahn<\/b>, <b>Ludwig Mies van der Rohe<\/b>, <b>Hans Scharoun<\/b>, <b>Hans Poelzig<\/b> and <b>Ernst May<\/b>, or for example <b>Aldo Rossi<\/b>, <b>Rem Koolhaas<\/b>, <b>Frank O. Gehry<\/b> and <b>Norman Foster<\/b>. Works of painters such as <b>Ben Willikens<\/b>,<b> Martin Kippenberger<\/b> and <b>Christo<\/b> are also part of the Collection.<br \/>\nThe DAM currently holds more than 33 estates, including the archives of <b>Hannes Meyer<\/b>, <b>Mart Stam<\/b> and <b>Heinz Bienefeld<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Exhibits of the Collection are presented at some of the DAM venues. The Collection also lends to museums all around the world for exhibition purposes.
