On 25 and 26 March the winners of the 2010 European Prize for Urban Public Space were chosen by a jury chaired by the Spanish architect Rafael Moneo, which includes Ole Bouman (NAi, Rotterdam), Sarah Mineko Ichioka (The Architecture Foundation, London), Dietmar Steiner (AzW, Vienna) and the Director of the DAM, Peter Cachola Schmal. From 2010, DAM becomes a partner in the European Prize for Urban Public Space, which was set up in 1999 at the initiative of the Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona with the aim of recognising and fostering the public character of urban spaces and their capacity for encouraging social cohesion.
